Survey Quarterly magazine is changing its name to Surveying+Spatial. NZIS is re-launching its quarterly magazine with a new name and content that reflects the broadening scope of the publication and membership of NZIS to include the New Zealand spatial community.
The Institute has been publishing a high quality, printed magazine four times a year since 1995. Articles of a scientific, academic and technical nature will be featured that will appeal to both the surveying and spatial communities.
Hadyn Smith, NZIS CEO says "This change is an exciting result of NZIS broadening its remit to include the spatial community in 2013. One of the Institutes key priorities is to ensure we support the surveying and spatial sectors and also ensure that they receive maximum benefit from their membership and have a voice this includes identifying training needs and sharing information. Our publications are integral part of this growth and support."
In keeping with the new name, the first edition of Surveying+Spatial will have a spatial theme and is being published to coincide with the NZ ESRI User Conference, 18-20 August. While this edition will have a spatial theme, it will still include all the regular columns and surveying focussed content.
