NZIS Continuing Professional (CPD) Policy
Since July 2007 there has been a requirement in NZIS Policy 4: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that all CPD records must be completed via the functionality of the Institute’s website. Until now the CPD Auditor has accepted both online and hard copy CPD returns to facilitate the transition to a fully online system and to allow for the development period of the new website.
This period is at an end and all members are advised that from 1 July 2010 CPD audits will be based on the CPD information recorded on the Institute’s website. Hard copy returns will no longer be accepted. To ensure that you meet the necessary requirements:
- check your online member details for completeness and with particular respect to RPSurv status, if applicable
- ensure that your CPD records are complete and online for the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2010
The CPD policy gives guidance and structure for all members participating in continuing education. Through participation in the CPD programme the Institute can with confidence attest that members maintain high standards of professionalism through the systematic updating and enhancement of skills, knowledge and competence.
A copy of the NZIS CPD policy can be found in document 2 of the members handbook here.
