This is an interactive workshop with industry specific examples and case studies. It will give attendees a good overview of Health and Safety legislation and requirements along with a range of tips and techniques to take back to your own workplace.

The workshop will provide an understanding of the following:

• Good safety practices and how it applies to you and your employees

• Recent and upcoming changes to the Health and Safety Act and Regulations

• How to apply the Directors’ Guidelines for all companies ranging from small business to large corporations

• Risk and how it applies to your business

• Worksafe NZ strategies

• Practical application of applying legislation to a case study “when the proverbial hits the fan”.

With over 17 years’ experience in all aspects of health and safety, Tony is a successful health and safety practitioner. He has an excellent understanding of the effect that an inadequate safety culture can have on a company and workplace. Tony’s experience as a Governmental Safety Inspector has given him the aptitude to see both sides – the regulatory and the practical. Tony also has a very good understanding of the regulations and standards required to meet Health and Safety best practice requirements.
