Membership Applications
Any person may make application to the NZIS to become a full Member. Rule 4.4 of the NZIS Rules outlines the criteria and process for application.
The NZIS Admissions Panel publish the Annual Circular each year, this is a guidance document to assist applicants who seek to become full Members.
The NZIS Admissions Panel Membership qualification process currently satisfies the Cadastral Surveyors Licensing Board requirements with respect to gaining a “Licence to Undertake Cadastral Surveys” pursuant to Sections 22 and 23 of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002.
Membership forms
Applications for full Membership (MNZIS) or Associate Membership (ANZIS) must be made on the NZIS Membership Application Form available as a pdf below. All membership applications are reviewed by the Membership Services Committee, the local NZIS Branch and then approved only upon majority decision of the NZIS Council.
All prospective applicants are recommended to read the NZIS Rules and Code of Conduct.

Consulting Surveyors of New Zealand (CSNZ)
CSNZ is a division of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors. If you are in practice, and a full paid up member of NZIS, you are eligible for membership of the Consulting Surveyors. Complete the CSNZ Membership Application Form (below) and email to csnz@surveyors.org.nz or post to P O Box 2853 Wellington. For subscription details and membership enquiries, contact the Secretary, Liz Blake, at csnz@surveyors.org.nz.
