NZIS Examinations Panel

The NZIS Examination Panel is responsible for setting and carrying out examinations (on behalf of the Cadastral Survey Licensing Board) to become a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and to join NZIS as a full Voting Member.

There are two sets of examinations:

  • Cadastral Law exam
  • Professional Entrance exam (candidates must first sit and pass the Cadastral Law exam).

2018 Exam Dates

Cadastral Law Examination 2018

Key dates:

  • 21 May - Closing date for applications
  • 08 June - Candidate Entry Form, Assignment for Research and instructions emailed to candidates
  • 21 June - Date of exam
  • 31 August - Candidate Results

Please Note: Due to the high number of candidates sitting the NZIS Cadastral Law Exam 2018 the candidates can expect to receive their results by 31 August 2018.

Professional Entrance Examination 2018 (April / November)

Key dates:

  • 30 July - Opening date
  • 06 August - Closing date to request exemptions
  • 10 September - Closing date for registering to sit the exam
  • 24 September - Closing date for submission of projects to the NZIS Examinations Office
  • 08 October - Timetables sent to eligible candidates to sit the Professional Entrance Examinations
  • 12th & 13th November - Start of Professional Entrance Examinations
